Online Education

August asked:

I am interested in persuing my education online. In particular, I will be obtaining my RN online through Excelsior (through istudysmart.com). Anyone know if there are programs out there for financial aide for online degrees, or online nursing degrees? Thanks.

Yes, this is known as distance learning. You will probably pay out of state, if you go to University of Pheonix. I don’t know for sure but the financial aid may be more limited than going to a regular school. You should call 1-800-4fed-aid and ask them about distance learning. They have an intranet script to help understand the bill that was past about it. Or you might try the Student Aid website, which I can not give you becuase it keeps giving me an error. (I think the government does not allow us to suggest their site, so that they can make it harder to recieve free aid.) The federal Student Aid information center should be able to give you the student aid website though to look up distance learning.
